Ushuaia Argentina, the End of the World!

December 21, winter, I mean summer solstice since we are in the southern hemisphere.  Today Julia and I slept in since we haven’t slept in a bed since Wednesday night.  After getting up and grabbing a less than desirable breakfast at the hotel we set out to explore Ushuaia, the end of the world as they refer to it here.  There are tons of ships in the harbor all waiting to take the next explorer out to see the southern oceans.  Ushuaia is a cute little town filled with tourist and outdoor gear shops surrounded by ragged peaks of the Southern Andes and the waters of the Beagle Channel.  This place is one of the most beautiful places I’ve been to in a long while!  My usual magnets have been
purchased as well as two paintings and 4 carved penguins out of quartzite and rhodochrosite.
